Sport and Spine Recovery Clinic to host April 12 ribbon cutting event

Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce ambassadors and City of Sun Prairie officials will be among the invited guests helping to cut the ribbon at 4 p.m. on Friday April 12 at Sport and Spine Recovery Clinic, 414 W. Main St.

The event aims to reintroduce Sun Prairie to the clinic, which has undergone some renovation after Dr. Nathaniel Drees and his wife, Megen, and dog, Nash, relocated to Sun Prairie.

The Drees Family made their move following Dr. Drees’ post-graduate education in the McKenzie Method, Graston Technique (GTS), Active Release Technique (Full Body Trained, Long Tract Nerve Entrapment Trained), Functional Movement Systems Certified (FMSC), FAKTR and Dry Needling.

Drees is one of only seven chiropractors in Wisconsin — and the only Sun Prairie practitioner — who is Full Body and Long Tract Nerve Entrapment Trained in Active Release Technique. He’s also the only chiropractor to be a Graston Technique Specialist in Wisconsin and surrounding states.

While working as a teaching assistant at Palmer College of Chiropractic in the Diagnostic and Radiology Department, Drees took a special interest in both Active Care Rehabilitation classes and neuromusculoskeletal diagnosis.

After a few years practicing in southeast Wisconsin and Chicago, Drees returned to Wisconsin to help open, grow, and operate three franchise chiropractic clinics for easy access to care.

The Sun Prairie clinic came to be when a chiropractor put his building up for sale.

“With an opportunity provided from previous owner Dr. Gary Silbaugh — who had been practicing for 40 years in Sun Prairie — Sport and Spine was able to purchase 412/414 West Main Street and expand and remodel the clinic with state-of-the-art equipment including x-ray, Laser Therapy, gym and recovery bay.”

Drees thanked Silbaugh for the ability to present new treatment options to Sun Prairie’s active residents.

“We are excited to share our expertise in soft tissue injuries and overall mobility with not only Sun Prairie's athletic population,” Drees added, “but clients of all ages and activities.”

Drees also knew his diverse group of patients needed active rehabilitation and recovery services to maintain their pain free lifestyle, so he created Sport and Spine Recovery Clinic.

“Our hope is to provide a one-stop shop for nerve, muscle and joint pain for all ages from small children to senior citizens, from gardeners to marathoners,” Drees said.

After purchasing 412-414 West Main St. with the intent of building a gym-clinic hybrid, accomplished (minus a few decorating projects), the Sport and Spine Recovery Clinic opened to the public with the ability to offer exemplary service at an affordably priced clinic.

“We just want say how grateful we were to come to Sun Prairie, and how appreciative we are our current patients supporting us during our expansion to adding more services,” Drees said about why the ribbon cutting event is taking place. “We are excited to share our experience and techniques to the Sun Prairie and Windsor-Deforest areas.”
