Public invited to KidStrong ribbon cutting and open house scheduled for August 30th

City of Sun Prairie and Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce officials will join the public and owners of the Sun Prairie KidStrong franchise to celebrate the new business — located at 2828 Prairie Lakes Drive #104 — during an open house and ribbon cutting on Friday, Aug. 30.

Light snacks and refreshments will be offered during the event, which is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

“KidStrong is a science-based kids training program designed to help parents raise strong, confident, high-character kids,” said Lindsey Ollerman, who owns the Sun Prairie location along with Kaylee Delorey. “We work with children from walking up to 11 years old. We incorporate movement and fun into the learning process, empowering kids to learn more effectively. Our program focuses on character, physical and brain development through weekly 45-minute age-based classes.”

An addition to many youth programs in the Sun Prairie area. KidStrong classes work on parent-focused programming to take home after leaving the “blue floor” at KidStrong. The Sun Prairie KidStrong is part of a network of more than 120 other KidStrong locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

“Our younger classes are parent-based and KidStrong is really something for the whole family,” Ollerman said.

KidStrong is now offering free, but also operates a day camp, offers parents nights out as well as a venue for children’s birthday .

Ollerman grew up in Sun Prairie and is a Sun Prairie High School graduate. Delorey moved back to Wisconsin a few years ago and said the only thing that was missing was a KidStrong in the area. Both want to offer a way for kids to get and stay active.

“We hope to add another impactful program, among many amazing businesses in the area for families looking for a non-sport specific class that really gets kids moving,” Ollerman said, “and working on those skills we want to see in our youth.”
