City of Sun Prairie Seeks Community Input to Help Enhance Downtown

The City of Sun Prairie is excited to invite community members to participate in shaping the future of downtown through the Downtown Urban Design Project. Collaborating with firms Saiki Design and MSA Professional Services, the City aims to elevate the downtown landscape to new heights.

The project's overarching goal is to create an updated vision for Cannery Square, E. Main Street, and their surroundings, creating an enhanced pedestrian experience and an environment that is more aligned with the community’s needs and aspirations. The revitalized spaces will serve as focal points for community gatherings, celebrations, and everyday interactions.

"The downtown area holds a special place in the heart of the Sun Prairie community, evident from the numerous events, activities, and traditions hosted there annually," said Scott Kugler, Community Development Director. "I encourage everyone to contribute their input on the transformation they envision for downtown."

Through an online survey, community members can contribute their ideas and preferences, which will inform the development of a comprehensive concept plan. This plan will integrate various elements to create a cohesive downtown environment that reflects the aspirations of the Sun Prairie community.
