Subject: Vehicle vs Elementary School Crash

On November 26, 2025, at 5:43 a.m. a Sun Prairie Police Officer witnessed a vehicle
traveling on North Grand Avenue leave the roadway. The vehicle drove through a fence,
down a steep embankment, and crashed into the front side of Meadowview Elementary.
The vehicle and school sustained severe damage. There was no one in the school at
the time of the crash. There is no school today so instruction will not be impacted.

The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated by Sun Prairie EMS.
The Sun Prairie Fire Department also responded to evaluate the structure’s integrity.
Follow-up inspections will be made by the Sun Prairie Building Inspection Department.
Any impacts on school operations will be communicated by the Sun Prairie Area School
District.

At this time, we believe the driver had a medical event that preceded the crash.
