Sun Prairie Police Investigating Overnight Shooting on Hart Road
On Monday, March 23, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m., the Sun Prairie Police Department received multiple calls reporting gunfire in the area of Hart Road.
Officers responded immediately and canvassed the area, locating multiple rifle shell casings. At this time, no victims or property damage have been identified.
The Sun Prairie Police Department is asking residents in the area of Hart Road to review any available
surveillance footage for suspicious activity or vehicles leaving the area around the time of the incident and to report any information to law enforcement.
The department wants to reassure the community that there is no known ongoing threat related to this incident. At the same time, officers and investigators are actively pursuing all leads.
“Incidents like this are concerning, but our community should know we are fully engaged and committed to their safety,” said Chief Kevin Warych. “We will be relentless in our efforts to identify and hold those responsible accountable. Gun violence has no place in our city, and these cases are not closed until that accountability is achieved.”
