Sun Prairie Police Department Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Labor Day Campaign Results

As part of state and national efforts to help keep roadways safe for all travelers, Sun Prairie Police officers made 6 OWI arrests during the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign between August 19th and Labor Day (September 7th, 2026).

While the focus of the initiative was to deter impaired driving, officers also issued citations and made arrests during the 182 traffic stops for the following:

23 - Speeding violations
10 - Operating after revocation or suspension violations
9 – Sign/Signal violations
4 - Vehicle equipment/registration violations
3 - Safety belt violation
10 - Other traffic violations
5 – Felony arrests
4 – Misdemeanor arrests
2 – Warrant arrests
1 – Drug arrest


In addition, these traffic stops also resulted in 224 written warnings for various traffic infractions. "The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign lasted just over two weeks, but our officer’s work throughout the year to help make our roadways and communities as safe as possible for everyone,” said Sgt. Jason Lefeber.
