FIREARMS LOCATED AT SHEEHAN PARK

Sun Prairie, WI - On Sunday, May 31, 2026, at approximately 7:03 p.m., a Sun Prairie Police Officerm conducting proactive patrol at Sheehan Park, located in the 1100 block of Linnerud Drive, contacted the occupants of a parked vehicle. The Sun Prairie Police Department remains committed to maintaining a visible presence in our community parks, recognizing these spaces as important gathering places for families, children, and residents to safely enjoy recreational activities throughout the city.

During the subsequent investigation, officers located three firearms with extended magazines, along with additional magazines, inside the vehicle. Three individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Dane County Jail.

The Sun Prairie Police Department will continue proactive patrol efforts in city parks and other community spaces to help ensure residents feel safe while enjoying our public amenities.

The Sun Prairie Police Department is referring the following charges to the Dane County District Attorney's Office:
Terron N. Musgray, 18, of Sun Prairie:
  • Possession of a Firearm by an Adjudicated Delinquent
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Alteration of Property Identification Marks
Deon T. Pope, 17, of Sun Prairie:
  • Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person Under 18
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
Marvin Stokes, 17, of Sun Prairie:
  • Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person Under 18
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
