Fire Sprinkler System Extinguishes Fire at Manufacturing Facility

City of Sun Prairie, WI – Sun Prairie Fire & EMS responded to a building fire at a manufacturing facility in the Sun Prairie Business Park shortly after 2:00 am.

Upon arrival Engine 1 confirmed all employees had been evacuated and accounted for and employees directed SP Fire to a holding furnace near the location of the fire. The automatic fire sprinkler system was active with no signs of the fire still being active.

Engine 3 staged at the fire department connection for the fire sprinkler system and turned the water off while Engine 1 verified the fire had been extinguished. Deforest-Windsor Ladder 23 confirmed there was no fire spread or damage to the roof above the fire.

Approximately four fire sprinklers activated around the fire location and extinguished the fire prior to fire department arrival.
