Press Operator Apprentice
Spherion Staffing & Recruiting is looking for a Night Shift Press Operator Apprentice to join the team of our client, a growing print and digital solutions company. The Press Operator Apprentice will learn all aspects of the setup, operation, and maintenance of a cutter, folder, tipper, belly-bander, stitcher, binder, polybagger, or offline mailer. Prepress experience required.

- Pay Rate: $19-21/hr
- Schedule: Full-time, 12-hour shifts, 6 pm - 6 am
- Located in Sun Prairie, WI
- Learn the finishing process from the ground up, including loading and removing product from machines
- Assist team members in various equipment setup and operation tasks
- Read and understand the job ticket and other specifications of an assigned job and communicate job requirements/potential problems to the team
- Assist in the makeready, adjustment, and operation of a variety of finishing equipment
- Assist with machine maintenance
- Per client specifications, determine suitable packaging of product
- Perform process-related troubleshooting and correction
- Lean/6S
- 1 year of previous machine operation in any industry
- A mechanical background including troubleshooting skills using hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) as well as more specialized hand tools
- Ability to read and follow job specifications to ensure the job is run to specifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Problem-analysis and problem-resolution abilities
- Ability to perform basic math
