GovCon 101: Entering the Federal Marketplace. This introductory webinar provides a practical overview of how small businesses enter and compete in the federal contracting marketplace. Participants will learn how the federal government buys goods and services, what differentiates federal contracting from commercial sales, and why market research is the single most critical success factor for new entrants.

The Facilitator for this Workshop Is Ileen Kelly. Ileen came on board July 2019 and is the Illinois APEX Accelerator Program Director. She brings to the table over 15 years of providing Leadership and Capacity Building training for both small businesses and non-profit organizations. She spent over 10 years in the workforce development arena across multiple industries assessing and providing training for both incumbent and future workforce. She also spent over 30 years in marketing, advertising and public relations – Managing the public message for national clients and brands at the Chicago Tribune Media Co. Her primary responsibility is to advise clients to grow their business through local, state and federal government contracting which includes certifications.
