The opening reception will feature a library-led conversation with the artist followed by a viewing of her artwork. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet Nancy and ask her questions about her work. Refreshments will be served.

This event is generously funded by the Friends of the Sun Prairie Public Library.

Please note that the library will be closed during this event. Attendees will only have access to the Community Room and Atrium in order to attend the opening reception. Library staff will be unable to enter the library to obtain materials for patrons.

About the Artist:

Nancy Mather is a self-taught artist, born and raised in Madison. She began her creative journey making greeting cards and handmade paper, which evolved into paper collages and shadow boxes filled with various textures and found objects. She enjoys creating art from everyday household items, and texture and color are central to all her work. Her current pieces feature a textured base with a lighter feel. Sometimes a work develops from a specific color palette, while other times it starts with a few embellishments and grows into a story on canvas or board.

Nancy has exhibited at many businesses in the Madison area, including Oasis Cafe and Epic Systems. I am also a member of the Madison Art Guild, 14 South Artists, and the Wisconsin Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople.
