Juneteenth Celebrations 2022
Sun Prairie Community Schools in partnership with the Sun Prairie Area School District, City of Sun Prairie, Boys N’ Girls Club and the African-American Parent Network will host the 2022 Sun Prairie Community Juneteenth Celebration!
For those unfamiliar with this holiday, Juneteenth is a federally-recognized U.S. holiday commemorating the liberation and emancipation of the last enslaved African people in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865. Annually, communities across the country celebrate this Black Independence Day through hosting festivals, showcases, picnics and other events that elevate Black people, honor Black history, embrace Black culture, and amplify Black voices.
Join us at Carriage Hills Estate Park from 2:00pm-5:30pm.
There will be a host of community resources available, family activities, food, performances, prize give-a-ways, and more!
