Sun Prairie Sweet Corn Festival Parade & Block Party 2024

There were a limited number of entries available and available on a FIRST COME BASIS ONLY.
Kick off the Annual Sweet Corn Festival!
The parade begins at 6pm!
Come early and explore Downtown Sun Prairie for home shopping and dining. Head over to Cannery Square after the parade for the Block Party, presented by One Community Bank, with FREE music by Sun Prairie native's, The Dirty Birds!
For the safety of everyone in our community, we ask that everyone adhere to guidelines & instructions from our Parade Volunteers and the Sun Prairie Police Department regarding lineup, traffic control, and crowd safety.
Spectators:
- Parade will begin at 6pm in front of JW Interiors and head down East Main Street, turn onto Market Street and end at the corner of Market Street and Linnerud Dr.
- Porta potties are available at Cannery Square.
- Please enjoy the parade from the curb and do not enter into the street.
- Please consider showing your appreciation by standing for our military and first responder participants.
- Remain respectful of others around you.
- Share with your fellow spectators when candy and hand outs are given (You might want to bring a bag for goodies)
- Do no block walkways.
- Keep our city beautiful. Please clean up any trash you may have or see!
- The participants are excited to be a part of the Corn Fest parade. Feel free to clap and cheer them on as they go past!
- Support local businesses and stop into a downtown or any Sun Prairie business to shop or eat!
- Enjoy free music by The Dirt Birds at the Block Party afterwards in Cannery Square!
- Have fun!
Parade Participant Rules & Info:
- LINE-UP - Begins at 5pm
- FLOATS & MUSIC We encourage fun, family friendly & decorated entrants! To ensure adequate spacing, please limit to no more than 25 attendees, including one vehicle per sign up.
- HANDOUTS: We take our community safety seriously. If your parade entry chooses to hand out candy, information and/or other items, you must walk the curb line for distribution. Please DO NOT encourage parade go-ers to come to you. Any parade units found throwing candy or other items may be immediately asked to stop distributing items and will not be invited back.
- For safety, entrants using bicycles, roller blades etc should stay with their group at all times.
- Smoking/vaping and alcoholic beverages are not allowed anywhere during the line-up or on the parade route. Anyone in violation will be asked to leave the parade and SPPD may impose the following citations:
- City Ordinance 125.09 - Possession of Alcohol on school property: $187.00
- City Ordinance 8.48.010 - Possession of tobacco product on school property: $187.00
- LOUD MOTORS motors, tire screeching, abrupt stops, tailgating other vehicles or other unsafe activities are not permitted.
- ANIMAL UNITS: Prepare for your own cleanup on the line-up and Parade route. Animal units will not be allowed to start the Parade route without this provision.
- PARTICIPANT PARKING: Please, for the safety of everyone, all participants MUST use the shuttle bus. No parking or participant drop offs are allowed in the line up area. The shuttle bus will be at the Sun Prairie Aquatic Center and will provide rides to and from the line up area. (Please let us know if you need special accommodations due to a handicap).
- Please designate a contact person and a meeting place so that all your participants and their families know where the shuttle bus is picking up, dropping off, who to contact and where to meet you. Line up is first come (exceptions to EMS, animal units etc) and we will not have that information available for participants.
- Please remember to be respectful towards volunteers and fellow participants.
