Downtown Sun Prairie BID Presents Streets of Sun Prairie Summer Series

The Sun Prairie Business Improvement District (BID) is excited to announce this summer’s Streets of Sun Prairie event series. Streets of Sun Prairie (SOSP) is a line-up of family-friendly events occurring on Thursday evenings in Downtown Sun Prairie. Kicking off the series is the Dine in the Dream Park event.

Dine in the Dream Park – June 13

Attendees are invited to Prairie Dream Park at 415 Park Street from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to sample select menu items from local downtown restaurants, who will also donate a portion of their proceeds to support the Dream Park. Entertainment includes live music by Boo Mullarky, face painting by Funny Faces Family Entertainment, vendor booths, and various activities for enjoyment.

Community Art Making Project (C.A.M.P.) – Piano Parade! – June 20

Beginning at 5 p.m. and lasting until 7 p.m., folks are encouraged to venture to Downtown Sun Prairie where seven local artists have been working on refurbishing pianos into public art. Join them to see and play their pianos for the very first time!

Pianos will be placed in different outdoor, public spaces across the downtown area, remaining there for a duration of two to four weeks, subject to weather conditions. During the piano reveal, attendees will receive a brochure and map showing where each piano is located and the story behind the artwork. Additionally, activities will be available at each location including glitter tattoos, balloon sculpting, and an opportunity for the public to help paint one of the pianos in the project.

Night Market – July 25

Come on down to shop local at the Night Market in Downtown Sun Prairie on Thursday, July 25 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.! Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to live music by Soggy Prairie while enjoying various food offerings and exploring local craft and produce vendors. Downtown businesses will have extended hours and specials for the evening.

Classic Cars – August 8

From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., car enthusiasts are invited to attend Classic Cars to show off their own vehicles and/or admire other antique vehicles on Market Street and Cannery. It is free to attend and to participate in the car show! Funny Faces Family Entertainment will be onsite doing face painting in Cannery Square. Elvis Tribute Artist, Tony Rocker, will be performing as well.

The SOSP is designed to offer a variety of entertainment and activities throughout Downtown Sun Prairie that appeal to a wide range of people. Residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the downtown area and shop local.
