Cindy Brosig is a Registered Nurse, USAF Veteran, and owner of Operation H.E.E.L., an Animal-Assisted Therapy Practice located in Marshall, WI. Cindy works with her therapy dogs or a family’s personal dog to support children and young adults aged 7yrs old and up in the prevention and maintenance of physical, social, and emotional health challenges to improve quality of life at home, in the classroom, and in the community through enrichment or therapy classes. Cindy facilitates a therapeutic interaction between a dog and a person through private, dog-friendly exercises and training classes that helps to bring awareness and understanding of the body’s natural physiological response (such as anxiety, depression) to a real or perceived threat, often due to a physical or mental disability, toxic stress, and/or trauma. As a health care provider, Cindy will work with the participant’s primary care provider, when requested, in reaching a young person’s wellness goals. A large part of the success of this program is the ability for dogs to work off leash so young people may move freely with the dog to naturally experience feelings of trust, compassion, and acceptance in others and in themselves. It is also less stressful and more enjoyable for the working dog! Complimentary programs for our U.S. Military Children are available during all phases of the deployment cycle.
