DESCRIPTION:SUN PRAIRIE CANDLELIGHT UNITY CIRCLE\n\n \n\nTo honor the legacy of Dr. King\, we plan to gather as a community on Monday evening\, January 16th\, 2017 to send a message of unity as we light candles representing the eternal flame of the "beloved community."\n\n\n\nAll are welcome to join us for this short and unifying program. \n\n\n\nThe plan is to do a brief (battery-operated) candlelit Unity circle at the Cannery Square from 6-6:30. There will be a short program to commemorate the legacy and spirit of Dr. King and cultivate a greater sense of unity and community in our city.\n\nCandles will be provided - attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather as this is an outdoor event. \n\n\n\n"The eternal flame symbolizes the continuing effort to realize Dr. King's ideals for the 'Beloved Community' which requires lasting personal commitment that cannot weaken when faced with obstacles"\n\n \n\nOur hope is that this event - which also falls during Inauguration Week - will help set a tone of unity and belonging at a time when people may feel divided and uncertain. We are especially eager to send a message to all children in Sun Prairie that they are safe\, valued\, and loved here.
