Please join us for this 3-Part Series on learning about Grants. \;The amount of information about Grants cannot be covered in one Workshop so we will be conducting three separate Workshops on understanding Grants.

\n\nOur first Workshop will be on Wednesday April 30 \, 2025. \;At this Workshop\, we will be reviewing the key elements to include in your project start-up plan or business proposals you prepare to explore funding options. \;The focus will be on developing a Funding Plan that includes fundraising options\, and grant opportunities.
\n\n\;
\n\nSome of the things you can expect to learn by attending all three of these Workshops is :

\n\n\;
\n\nUnderstand the importance of funding research and planning
\n\n\;
\n\nFormulate strategies for your success.

\n\nThe Facilitator for these Workshops will be Linda Bowen. After 30 years as a professional in technology planning\, production operations\, and project management in the telecommunications and transportation industries\, Linda turned her attention to her community to serve on two Non-Profit Boards. It was on these Non-Profit Boards where she had her first exposure to Grants. First with helping with application writing and later working with compliance issues.
\n\n\;
\n\nLinda'\;s spent the the last 12 years working with various units of government to administer Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grants 9 CDBG)/ Disaster Recovery funds. As a Community Development Specialist she specialized in disaster recovery grant management services including but not limited to\, the following duties:

\n\nReviewed Grant Requests and Grant Applications package for infrastructure projects
\n\n\;
\n\nManage planning grant programs to assist communities in the development and adoption of forward-thinking comprehensive plans to guide along-term flood recovery efforts and flood mitigation
\n\n\;
\n\nManaged Public Assistance Grants to provide reimbursement (FEMA Match Funds) for infrastructure projects to struggling counties and villages
\n\n\;
\n\nDeveloped policy and procedures manuals
\n\n\;
\n\nProvided grant management assistance to procure construction and engineering services.
\n\n\;
\n\nProvided technical assistance as necessary to ensure grant compliance with federal\, state\, and local laws\, codes\, and regulations
